Welcome to Neighborhood Yoga. We are a community of yoga practitioners, teachers, and people who want to make a positive change in their lives. Yoga has taught me how to navigate life in ways I’ve never imagined, and all it asks back is that we do it.
We started small, in 2005, in a studio built by me and my husband (literally in the neighborhood) in our hometown of Boone, NC. Ten years later we renovated the top floor of the Historic Farmer’s Hardware building and moved to our current location in downtown Boone.
We have teachers from all different lineages because I believe that no one teacher or one style is for everyone. If you’ve tried yoga and decided it wasn’t for you, then maybe you just haven’t found the right teacher yet. But I believe yoga is so much more than something we practice on our mats. It’s also a way of engaging with the world, both our interior and exterior worlds. Yoga is not something to approach with ambition or competitiveness, but instead with a sense of curiosity. Because it’s much less about how we are doing the poses and more about what we learn about ourselves in the process.
I hope you’ll join us on this amazing journey!
We’d love to see you in the Neighborhood.
